Directed by Fereydoun Najafi, the movie will be screened at the 44th edition of the Russian festival.
In the scene from 'Wolf Cubs of Apple Valley', Asho's friend is shown falling to the ground after a shot rings out in the valley.
The rifle bullet was meant for Asho; his father is wanted for murder and he, too, is being pursued.
To evade those who are looking for him, Asho is forced to dress up as a girl and hide at his aunt’s house.
In his hunt for answers, he heads out to Apple Valley with his cousin, Pari, to look for his mother, who he has always believed to be dead.
‘Wolf Cubs of Apple Valley’ has gone on screen at some global events, including the BUFF International Film Festival in Sweden and the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran, where it won Special Jury Award, Golden Butterfly for Best Actor (Mohammadreza Alivar), Golden Butterfly for Best Screenplay, and Golden Butterfly for Best Picture.
The Moscow International Film Festival is one of the oldest in the world.
The 44th edition of the MIFF will open on August 26 with the screening of the Russian historical drama ‘Land of Legends’ by Anton Megerdichev.
It will wrap up on September 2 with the screening of the Korean drama ‘Decision to Leave’ directed by Park Chan-wook.
